NewMindsets differs from most e-learning companies in that it is learning-driven, not just technology driven.

Early in our development we saw that the e-learning industry was setting itself up for disappointment because web-based technology was just being used to deliver old products in new ways. The rush to get a foothold in the e-learning marketplace led many companies to lock into a traditional course-based educational model that put text and classroom-style training on line, without real thought for how materials and learning approaches needed to be completely re-configured for effective use in an on-line environment. This 'first-generation' approach delivered on the promise of any-time, any-place learning, making massive numbers of online courses or content libraries available at an attractive cost. But it failed in delivering effective learning - other than on highly technical topics where the old course-based approach worked reasonably well.
